The Festive Christmas Book Tag!

Christmas is right around the corner!!  Can you believe it?!  Yeah, neither can I, it came so fast!  Anyways, to stay in a festive mood I decided I’m going to do a Christmas/Holiday Book Tag!  These questions originally came from GirlReading’s YouTube channel.  This should be fun!

1) A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

The Weasleys!  Because they seem so fun and welcoming and I’m sure there’d never be a dull moment during dinner!  Haha

2) A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

Oh boy!  ALL of the bookish gifts?!  No?  That’s not a good answer?  But there are just so many great options for this… maybe clothing items or pillows that are bookish related since I don’t have any of those items yet.

3) A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

HMMM!  Either Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or Hermione from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling?

4) Match a book to it’s perfect Christmas song.

Uh… I have no idea for this question…  Let me know what you came up with!

5) Bah Humbug.  A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the Naughty List?

Levana from the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, she was so mean and such a horrible person lol.  I couldn’t finish reading Fairest, I really loved and enjoyed the other books in the series though!!

6) A book or fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserves to be put on the Nice List?

Either, Snape (from Harry Potter, of course) or Holland from A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy by V.E. Schwab.  Both are complex characters and as each series goes on you start to feel more and more for each character and see where they’re coming from and some of the reasons why they are the way that they are.

7) Red, Gold, and Green.  A book cover that has a wonderfully Christmasy feel to it.

Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell.  I mean, maybe not really, at least not in the traditional sense, but I really LOVE the cover (it has glitter!  Who can say no to glitter?!).  It has two short stories which make up this book and they are both winter/holiday related and they are just so cute and a fast enjoyable read.

8) A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas trees this year so they can read and love it too?

Oh, gosh!  There are so many good books and series to choose from, so this is a difficult question!

Besides Harry Potter, I’d have to say either The Lunar Chronicles or A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy!  The Lunar Chronicles because I’ve always had a soft spot for fairytale re-tellings and this series takes place in the future and SPACE!  Also, this showcases a lot of diversity among all the main characters which is just awesome!  And A Darker Shade of Magic because it has a lot of action adventure, pirates, magic, and kick-ass characters that I just adore (Delilah “Lila” Bard is just amazing!  I wish I was more like her in some regards lol)!    OH!  How could I neglect to mention The Illuninae Files?!  The first two books that are currently out are so unique and very good!  They’re definitely a visual and audio (if you listen to the audiobooks, it’s like listening to an old radio show or podcast!  A lot of fun!) treat!

This was fun, I’ll have to do another Book Tag again sometime!  I tag anyone that wants to participate in this tag or any other fun ones you can find and want to do!  All right, well, I hope you all have a great holiday with family, friends, and all your loved ones.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
