Least Favorite Books! – Vlog

Air, Emador, and Tara got together to share some books that they really couldn’t stand! Some of them they just had to put down right away and couldn’t get past chapter one, others they pushed through to the end!

What books are on your least favorite list? Any you can’t stand, never finished? Did we mention one that you really like? Let us know in the comments!

Books mentioned:

  • Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
  • Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
  • 50 Shades of Grey by E. L. James
  • Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

  1. Great vlog! So many background bookshelves, too. I get nervous about naming and shaming books and authors, buuuuut… if I look at my ‘one stars’ on goodreads there’s actually too many to choose from. Funnily enough, some of the books I remember being really bad still have two or three star ratings because when I went to assess them I was like ‘BUT the *idea* was really good’ or ‘but for some reason I just wanted to read more’ – kind of like Tara and Twilight. They were doing so much wrong, but somehow, at least one thing right. Twilight, however, did get a stone cold one star from me – in fact, the pattern is that bad books that had lots of hype got the worst ratings from me. I guess it’s true that high expectations give you farther to fall.

    1. Thanks! 😀

We struggled to decide which books too choose, because it’s one thing to talk about books we dislike in our own private group it’s another thing to share it to the world! So I get what you mean about being nervous.

Haha it makes sense — set the expectations too high and you have further to plummet… usually books that get too popular are ones I am hesitant to pick up because of that hype. So I haven’t read a lot of the recent “big” books everyone squeals about.
