Giddy Goats’ Favorite Board/card Games

It’s that time of month! We’ve got another listicle for you! We Giddy Goats love to play board games, and we tried to narrow down some of our favorite. In no particular order, here they are:

Air’s

Shadow’s Over Camelot

This is a cooperative game in which you and friends are Knights of the Round table, every failed mission strengthens the oncoming siege. But watch out! One of your friends might be a traitor!

Mysterium

Love this game! Mysterium is a cooperative game where one person is a ghost and the other players are the mediums trying to find out who murdered the ghost. Race the clock, and work together to understand the strange visions the ghosts gives you!

Small World

Every player is their own fantastical race, take turns conquering others and claiming their land! When your race is spread too thin it’s time to go in decline and take on a new race to begin your conquering all over again!

Dutch Blitz

This is a fast pace came in a race against others. You’re attempting to get through your blitz pile the fastest, while getting cards out onto the table for points. It’s a mad house and occasionally there is blood shed!

Gloom

Gloom fit my morbid fascination and love of telling stories! It’s a card game in which you control the fate of your eccentric family bringing them to death in the most tragic way possible while trying to hinder the other players from doing the same!

Timeline

A great little filler game in between deciding what game to play next or when you don’t have a lot of time! Also a great game for those who love history and learning, all players need to do is guess where in the timeline something (invention, music, scientific discovery, etc.) happened!

Ali’s

Pandemic

This is a cooperative game for 2-4 players where your are all specialists in different fields trying to find cures for the four deadly diseases before they wipe out humanity. Can you handle the pressure? Or will the pandemic overwhelm you and leave you cold?

Cheat Card Game

Cheat is also known as BS/Bullshit or Bluff (or we personally called it “Bomb Squad” when playing with younger players because someone is bound to call it “BS”) and is played with any standard pack of cards with the Jokers removed. The aim is to get rid of all the cards in your hand by lying and not getting caught! Sounds easy? Maybe, but only if you have a poker face.

Anomia

A competitive game for 3-6 people to see who’s paying attention and who’s faster to blurt out the correct answer. Beware of this game since it tends to be fun, loud, and filled with laughter!

Gypsy’s

Forbidden Island

Forbidden Island is a cooperative game in which you and your fellow players work as a team to collect the artifacts from the island, but the flood waters are rising and pieces of land are being swept away. Will you gather the relics and make it off the island before it’s too late?

Forbidden Desert

This is another cooperative game in which you and your team have crash landed in the middle of the desert. You have to collect all the pieces to your aircraft before time runs out… and in the middle of the desert with the sun blazing down on you and the sand storm sweeping through, time is anything but on your side.

Ticket to Ride

In this competitive game, players are racing to see who can travel to the most cities in North America.

Dragonwood

Dragonwood is a fun game for all ages! In this dice and card game, your goal is to get the most points by capturing as many creatures, enhancement cards, and dragons as you can!

Spoons

This is an intense game that while made up of only cards and spoons has the potential to end in injuries. The race to snatch a spoon begins once one player has collected a four of a kind – but there is one less spoon than the number of players, so pay attention!

Tara’s

Zombicide: Black Plague

You and your friends play characters desperately trying to survive zombie hoard—but in a fantasy setting! It’s cooperative and includes RPG elements like learning spells and skills, gaining XP, and leveling up (along with your foes).

Mansions of Madness

Another cooperative story game, Mansions of Madness takes you through a plot of eldritch horror. Really great for repeat plays since every game has a new unique map, story elements, and crazy monsters to fight or flee from while you try to solve whatever weird situation you’ve gotten yourselves into.

Codenames

The perfect party game that’s easy to pick up and ideal for word association lovers. Each team’s spymaster gives their team one-word clues to get them to guess as many of their team’s words on the table as they can—-but be wary of the assassin!

Once Upon a Time

Image result for once upon a time game

A game made for storytellers! Each card in your hand holds a single word, and you must work as many of them into your on-the-fly story as you can before you falter or another player steals the story.

Betrayal at House on the Hill

Yet another cooperative story-heavy game! You are a group of characters exploring a strange house when, inevitably, strange and supernatural things begin to happen. Scenarios differ almost every time you play so it’s another great one to come back to again and again!

Let us know if we mentioned one of your favorites, and if we didn’t – let us know what games you love to play! We’d love to know, and perhaps we might want to give it a try ourselves!
